✂️ Making enrichment for the Barbary macaques
Come and make enrichment for the Barbary macaques! You will work together with our enthusiastic volunteers. While you are crafting, the volunteers will tell you more about the endangered Barbary macaque and also about the project in Morocco, which is supported by the Gaia Nature Fund! From 10:30 to 11:15, you will work with enthusiastic volunteers to create enrichment items in the DinoCafé. At 11:30, the animal keeper will give the enrichment items to the Barbary macaques, and you can watch.

🕯️ Making candles from beeswax
Do you enjoy being creative and would you like to make your own candle? Then let our volunteers help you get started. Fun fact: the candle you will be making is made from beeswax, a raw material produced by honey bees! Cost: 2 euros per candle, with all proceeds going to the Gaia Nature Fund.

🌻 Bloemzaad bommetjes maken

On Valentine’s Day, our GaiaGuide will take you on a tour about Love in the Animal Kingdom! We will meet at 11:00 a.m. at the well house on the Limburg farm. The tour will take approximately 1.5 hours. The tour is free of charge and no advance registration is required. The tour will be conducted in Dutch and German. Be sure to arrive on time, as space is limited.

Celebrate World Bongo Day at GaiaZOO! On 31 May, we’re celebrating World Bongo Day at GaiaZOO! Between 12:00 and 15:00, you can pop along to the mountain bongo stand by the outdoor enclosure. An enthusiastic volunteer and mountain bongo keeper will show you all sorts of things and tell you all about these critically endangered animals! What makes the ‘barcode’ of every mountain bongo so important? And why did four mountain bongos leave European zoos for Kenya at the start of this year?
